If the temperature of a surface is taken, this will remain the same, however, when taking the temperature of a human being this fluctuates. e.g. should you take the temperature on your forehead you will get a reading, then when you move the thermometer to your neck, you will get a different reading and if you take your temperature inside the crevice of your elbow, a different reading will appear.
In short, the measuring of the temperature of the body will have a difference of 2 - 3 degrees.
